- August 6th - August 7th: Capital A'Fair (Capital Grounds, Bismarck) The region's largest and finest exhibition of art, crafts, food and entertainment.

- August 6th: Breakfast at the Zoo (Dakota Zoo, Bismarck) Join us for pancakes, sausage, bacon and beverages inside our Discovery Center or outdoors when weather permits. Price includes breakfast and admission to the zoo.!

-August 4th - August 7th: Morton Country Fair (Fair grounds, New Salem)  NPRA rodeo, mutton busting, antique and power pull, dance, kids fun house, climbing rock wall, free musical entertainment, commerical booths, chicken barbecue, exhibits, concessions, barrell racing and team roping.

- August 5th - August 7th: Long Soldier Powwow  (Fort Yates) Powwows are a celebration of fellowship, a sharing of cultures, and an opportunity to learn for all peoples.

- August 5th - August 7th:American Legacy Exposition (Ft. Abraham Lincoln State Park) Combines the best of Frontier Army Days and the Nu'eta Corn and Buffalo Festival. Times: Aug. 5-1-7 p.m.; Aug. 6-10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Aug. 7-10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
